About the Team

What does it take to succeed as a professional cyclist? Talent, training, tactics - sure. Most successful elite riders have all three. But making the jump to the next level requires values and skills far beyond the bike. Respect, humility, discipline - these are the qualities we first identify in riders before ever looking at a race resume or power profile.
At Gateway Devo Cycling Team, we’re committed to providing the next generation of riders with the tools to succeed in whatever path they might choose to pursue. Since our inception in 2010, we’ve graduated 15 riders to the professional ranks, including one to the World Tour. Moreover, we’ve poised these young men to achieve their goals in life beyond the sport. We’ve done so by fostering a culture that demands more from our riders than many other professional-level teams. The riders drive the van. The riders coordinate the logistics. The riders manage the social media - just to name a few. Our riders learn to take nothing for granted, fully understanding the opportunity before them. We’ve found this to instill a level of commitment, gratitude, and teamwork that no amount of money or equipment can replicate.
As our team has grown from a small hometown squad into the top amateur team in the country over the past several years, we’ve sought to remain true to our core values. We’re a family-oriented team and treat our riders as if they’re our children. We pride ourselves in identifying untapped talent and giving these young men every resource to grow and reach their potential both on and off the bike. As we move into the 2020 season, we’re focused on maintaining this vision and letting the results speak for themselves.
